Dear Bidder,
Attached your will find an RFP for the Lexington School for the Deaf pool reconstruction project attached you will also find the DASNY and NYSED requirements, optional elevator location (at stair 05/05/2025 SOW architectural). Please open the link for scope of work drawings and other

The school has been speaking with and has obtained preliminary cost for the Myrtha pool product and the contact information is included in the RFP. Myrtha has several contractors that they work with in the area, and we took the liberties of meeting with Myrtha and Norberto pools. These are contractors that are suggestions. If your firm has alternatives, please provide such cost saving alternatives. Attached is Myrtha pools associated costs and assumptions.
Because of the funding model - we are asking your firm to reach out to Steve Rimkunas (pool consultant) and vet his proposal (attached) and include such scope in your proposal as a line item. Steve or another pool consultant you feel more comfortable with should be included under your scope and coordination. Steves role would be to be on your team and coordinate the specific pool DOH approvals and sign offs and to be part of the team including IMEG and ENV for other DOB filings.
The current state of drawings are “scope of work drawings” and the main interest at this time is to structurally fix the existing pool deck/pool structure, laying and allowing the a liner type system to be installed (again we are open to other manufactures other than Myrtha), The pool equipment (filters, tanks, pump, piping, lighting, etc) the MEP systems to support the pool for ventilation, heating, electrical. Lighting, etc.. and the support areas specifically the elevator (2 options SOW-1 separately attached from the link) and the ADA ramp in place of the current bleachers and general finishes in the pool area. There are various alternative add options (generally architectural) such as the locker rooms and some other finishes. The idea of this RFP would be to obtain CM at risk proposal and if the costs align with the current funding availability Lexington school would engage your firm and the construction documents would be developed in conjunction with your firm, guidance and cost management allowing the school to be assured that they will not exceed the guaranteed maximum price you submit.
The school must be able to lock a cost with everything considered as there is no possible way to obtain addition funding once costs are established so your cost management is critical to the school’s success as well as yours.
We would like for you to use the time from receipt of this email until after Memorial Day to review the scope, reach out to Myrtha, Rimkunas, and Norberto other pool type specialist you have familiarity with and we will schedule a site visit the week of May 27th.
If Thursday May 29
th at 10am works for you and your team, please advise and an invite will be sent to you confirming.
