Our robotics and drone teams traveled to Colorado from April 20–27, 2026, to compete in the NRSC Robotics and Drone Tournament, proudly representing our school with determination and skill. The teams were coached by middle school teachers David Huber and Astrid Zea.
Robotics
Robotics Team 42904A (Jesus, Dianelly, Samantha) placed 14th out of 32 teams in the middle school robotics tournament and advanced to the playoffs. They competed alongside the Rocky Mountain School for the Deaf, who finished 7th overall. The team also excelled in skills, finishing 7th overall and tying for 2nd place in Autonomous (coding). In addition, they earned the Think Award for their high-quality and well-documented programming.
Team 42904C (Markuss, Nehemiah, & Maylin) placed 27th overall. Despite experiencing some performance glitches, they worked hard throughout the competition and demonstrated perseverance by never giving up.
Drones
Team 97549A (Markuss & Samantha) won the Middle School Skills Competition, which combines autonomous flight and piloting. They placed 3rd overall out of 34 teams—including high school teams—and ranked 2nd in Autonomous. They also received the Airmanship Award for their strong teamwork, professionalism, and commitment to drone safety. The team advanced to the playoffs by placing 5th overall in the qualification round and selected the Oklahoma School for the Deaf as their alliance partner. They narrowly missed advancing to the quarterfinals by just 3 points.
Team 97549B (Jesus & Maylin) placed 25th overall, finishing just 10 points short of making the playoffs.
Team 97549C (Nehemiah & Dianelly) placed 32nd overall and earned the Judges Award, recognizing their perseverance, teamwork, and outstanding communication during the competition. They also placed 22nd in Skills overall.
We are incredibly proud of all our students for their hard work, dedication, and excellent representation of our school. We are also thankful for the support of Middle School staff and administration.
