Planned Giving - Wills, Trusts & Annuities

Make Lexington a part of your legacy by designating a planned gift as part of your will or estate planning.

What is Planned Giving?

Making a planned gift to The Lexington School for the Deaf Foundation is easy–and it begins with a plan. Your lawyer or financial advisor can help develop a plan that best fits your vision and financial circumstances. Planned gifts can also provide tax advantages to your estate and your heirs.

Ways to Give

List of 3 items.

  • Wills

You can leave a lasting legacy of support to Lexington by making a charitable bequest in your will. A lawyer knowledgeable in estate law can assist you in preparing a will that includes Lexington as a beneficiary. Please remember Lexington School for the Deaf Foundation when making or changing your will.
  • Charitable Remainder Trusts

You may also wish to set up a charitable remainder trust that will ultimately benefit Lexington. You donate property to the trust and the income from the trust is allocated to you and your beneficiaries for your lifetime or a specified term. The amount remaining in the trust at the end of the term or upon the death of the donor is then donated to Lexington. Please see your financial advisor for more information.
  • Charitable Gift Annuities

Another option is a charitable gift annuity. A charitable gift annuity is a contract between a charity and an individual. The individual transfers assets, usually cash or publicly traded securities, to the nonprofit in return for a partial tax deduction and a fixed income during the life of the donor. When the donor dies, the charity, Lexington, keeps the remaining portion of the gift. Please see your financial advisor for more information.
