Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a Federal law that protects the privacy of students’ education records. This law gives parents/guardians, and students over 18 years of age (“eligible students”), certain rights with respect to student education records. Lexington is required to inform parents/guardians of these rights.

Detailed information about FERPA, in English and Spanish, is included in the below tabs. Should you have any questions about FERPA, please contact Pupil Personnel Services at 718-350-3250 or pps@lexnyc.org.
