Staff End of Year Transition

Congratulations on our first full year of Talking Points! 
If you are not teaching summer school, please see the 2 points below. If you are, skip to the next section to learn about setting up your ESY homeroom group!

  1. If you are not teaching during summer school, please set your out-of-office messages. This will help families know who to contact if they have questions during this time (your supervisor or the Lexington Admin Account on Talking Points, etc.)


  2. Staff inboxes will be archived (still accessible) to clean up for the new year. Messages will roll over to a new year during maintenance week in August.
Summer School Staff
Follow these steps to set up your own ESY homeroom or caseload groups.
If you need additional support please contact Meggi at msmith@lexnyc.org.
 
Summer School (ESY) All Families Group: This is how you will have access to all of the students you need (whether you are listed as a teacher or non-rostered staff). We do not have PowerSchool during the summer but new students will be added manually to this group.

  1. Make your own group: First you need to Add a Group.

    Go to Classes & Groups (1), in the top right click Add Group (2), give it a name such as Summer School E4 etc. (3), click Create (4).

    This may take a moment but if you click on the background it should show up.
  2. Find your new group: This will be under Classes & Groups (1), Your Groups (2), then click on the new group you made (3).


  3. Add Your Students: Once you click on your new group you will select one of the Add Students buttons and then click Add existing students from other classes.
    It is easiest to type their name in the search bar and click the check box, then search the next name ... when you are done click Add. 




  4. You are set! Hope you have a great summer!
