Gotham Bat Conservationists Visit Lexington
Elementary classes E7 & E8 would like to thank Ryan Mahoney & Roxanne Quilty of the Gotham Bat Conservancy for visiting yesterday as part of E8's yearlong conservancy project.
Conservation scientists Ryan & Roxanne fielded questions from students on bats and their importance to the ecosystem. They shared www.gothambatcon.org's mission to restore bat habitats and explained how passive acoustic monitoring systems are used in bat conservation efforts. E8 will be visiting the bat sanctuary at Strack Pond in NYC's Forest Park Preserve in the spring to help with bat conservation efforts.
