Students Attend 4201 Advocacy Day in Albany

Four high school students represented Lexington at 4201 Advocacy Day in Albany on February 10, 2026.
Accompanied by Interim CEO/Superintendent Seth Bravin, High School Principal Lisa Meyer, and Community Relations Director Cindy Casson, students attended a reception for 4201 School representatives on Monday evening to prepare for Advocacy Day. At the dinner, Lexington students - Ahmed, Eve, Genesis & Hai Wen - had the opportunity to meet other 4201 students.  On Tuesday, students represented Lexington at the 4201 Day breakfast and then spent the remainder of the day meeting with New York State senators, assembly members, and their legislative directors. 

Senators and/or their staff who met with students included Senator Jessica Ramos (SD 13), Senator James Sanders, Jr. (SD 10), Senator Shelley Mayer (SD 37) and the legislative director for Senator Michael Gianaris (SD 12). Assembly members and/or their staff who met with students included AM Jessica Gonzalez-Rojas (AD 34), AM Catalina Cruz (AD 39), AM Clyde Vanel (AD 33), AM Stacey Pheffer Amato (AD 23), AM Scott Bendett (AD 107) and legislative directors for AM Nily Rozic (AD 25) and AM Vivian Cook (AD 32). 

Students were honored to meet Lester Young, Jr., Chancellor of the NYS Board of Regents, and Judith Chin, Vice Chancellor of the Board of Regents, at Monday evening's reception. On Tuesday, Lexington, Mill Neck and Fanwood students and staff met with Christopher Woodfill, Executive Director of the NYS Deaf, DeafBlind & Hard of Hearing Office.
