Team members Brian, Umer, Imhotep, and Jie used VEX components to design and build a robot and attachments specifically for this year's challenge. They created a game plan and programmed the robot for the autonomous portion of the match. The team also had to document their plans and progress in an engineering notebook. Middle school teachers Carol Kretschmer and Astrid Zea are coaches for the team. Mary Beth Clark and David Rosenberg will be supporting the team during the competition.
Thirty-eight teams, representing 25 schools from throughout the United States will be participating in the competition which is sponsored by the National Technical Institute for the Deaf's Regional Stem Center (NRSC) at the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind (AIDB).
