Our middle school VEX IQ robotics team was at the school bright and early this morning (6:30 am). They will be competing in the 5th Annual 2024 NRSC VEX IQ Robotics Competition for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students at the Tennessee School for the Deaf on January 11-14. Links for a livestream of the event, as well as results and a schedule, can be found at this link using the menu on the left side of the page. https://www.robotevents.com/robot-competitions/vex-iq-competition/RE-VIQRC-23-2656.html#general-info

Team members Brian, Umer, Imhotep, and Jie used VEX components to design and build a robot and attachments specifically for this year's challenge. They created a game plan and programmed the robot for the autonomous portion of the match. The team also had to document their plans and progress in an engineering notebook. Middle school teachers Carol Kretschmer and Astrid Zea are coaches for the team. Mary Beth Clark and David Rosenberg will be supporting the team during the competition.
Thirty-eight teams, representing 25 schools from throughout the United States will be participating in the competition which is sponsored by the National Technical Institute for the Deaf's Regional Stem Center (NRSC) at the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind (AIDB).
