Help Improve Bus Service for NYC Students!

We know many of our families have experienced the impact of shortages within the OPT yellow bussing services. Help support change! We encourage you to reach out to email Governor Hochul and key state legislators and ask them to support a new bill. It will help get new bus contracts in place and improve bus service for NYC students.  Click here for a simple form to fill out  (They provide a template email you can send or adjust to match your specific experience.) See read more for additional details.

ACTION ALERT. Year after year, families face problems with school bus service. These issues especially affect students with disabilities, students in temporary housing, and students in foster care.

To be able to fix some of the problems families experience, NYC needs to update the bus contracts, many of which are more than 40 years old. However, NYC needs a change in state law to move forward with new bus contracts while keeping current bus worker job protections in place. Email Governor Hochul and key state legislators and ask them to support a bill to help get new bus contracts in place and improve bus service for NYC students.
