Summary: The Digital Media Technology Teacher will use various technology platforms to promote advancement in the field of arts and cultural communications.
 
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Teach students in all departments: Preschool, Elementary, Middle School, & High School
  • Develop a rigorous, objective, and standards-driven arts enrichment curriculum inclusive of, but not limited to, arts, theatrical arts, audio/video technology, and communications
  • Excellent classroom management skills and provide positive behavior intervention with support
  • Ability to use technology: Google Drive, PowerSchool, and Schoology
  • Collaborate with others in the visual arts department, Drama Club, Dance Teacher, etc
  • Attend training to keep current with technology and TV Studio equipment
  • Support the school's Strategic Planning initiatives with an emphasis on strengthening the culture
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills & Abilities: 
  • Excellent classroom management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and administrators
  • Demonstrated knowledge of content area
  • Ability to establish rapport and build professional relationships with students
  • Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills.   
Education and Experience:
  • Master’s degree in special education, Deaf Education, or related field
  • Experience providing instruction to students who are deaf and hard of hearing
  • American Sign Language (ASL) proficiency
 Security Clearance:
  • Required clearance include: Medical clearance, fingerprinted by the NYC Board of Ed and SCR and SEL clearance.
 Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Prolonged periods of walking in and around the building 
  • Must be able to lift 15 lbs. at times
