STEM Academy
What is STEM Academy: NYC?
STEM Academy is a summer academic program designed to prepare students for college. Students participating in STEM Academy will:
- Improve academic skills in English Language Arts, Math, and Social Emotional Learning.
- Develop American Sign Language literacy and skills.
- Develop leadership and STEM skills.
- Enhance college and career readiness skills.
- Experience hands-on activities and creative projects.
- Make new friends.
- Participate in field trips.
The academic structure is an immersive and intensive student-centered learning model with a language-rich environment. Students with all language experiences and communication modalities are welcome. ASL and English interpreters will be provided. Students who successfully complete STEM Academy: NYC are given an iPad. This program is on a first-come, first-served basis.
