Lexington Mourns Former Board Member

Former long-time board member, Alan Mansfield, passed away on January 11, 2021. He served on the board for over 30 years. Alan was a champion of and loyal to the Lexington School and Center for the Deaf. He was an incredibly busy and successful man, but always had a big heart for Lexington.

Alan always made himself available when anyone reached out to him. He was often ready to listen, share ideas, offer feedback/suggestions and even make connections with new individuals out in the community. More often than not, Alan’s one or two sentence, well-thought out statements would result in more impact than those who offered a long-winded commentary. He was full of helpful ideas - in the box and out of the box. He was deeply and well respected by his board colleagues.

His presence, work and commitment to Lexington were felt at all times.

The Board of Trustees and Lexington School and Center for the Deaf are forever indebted and grateful for Alan's knowledge, passion and commitment to Lexington.

A statement from Mr. Alan Mansfield's firm, GreenbergTraurig (GT Firm):

It is with a very heavy heart that I share with you all that Alan Mansfield, one of our earliest members of the New York office and the model of excellence and commitment to clients of the highest level to me and so many others for decades, passed away last night after a long illness.

Alan loved his years at Greenberg Traurig and we loved him.  Anyone who knew Alan knew that excellent work was his life.  We will never forget him and the Greenberg Traurig family mourns his death along with his natural family at this time.

Too soon to go, may this brave, strong and exceptional human being, and our dear friend and colleague, and to many the lawyer we would ourselves want if we were in trouble and needed a wise counsel with the best judgment, rest in peace.
